Shifter box and cable set from any 02J 5 speed mk4 (mk4 box will require some fab to mount in a mk3) or a shifter box and cables from a mk3 02A car (will bolt right in) but with an 02A box and cables you will have to use the 02A shift selector tower in your 02J transmission. Hose from brake master cylinder reservoir to clutch master cylinder. I made a -3AN braided PTFE hydro clutch line using these parts and two 12mmx1.0 thread rear caliper banjo bolts from a mk4 for half the price of the OEM lineĪn eighteen inch -3AN brake line with one 90 degree end. Line from master to slave cylinder from a mk3 TDI or VR6. Firewall plug to cover the old hole the clutch cable used to pass through Part# 1H4971908A Clutch master cylinder bracket or brace from a mk3 TDI or VR6 car. Clip to attach master cylinder rod to the clutch pedal. Clutch master cylinder to firewall gasket. Part# 02A409355Dġ.8T 02J transmissions use the 108mm axle flanges which will not work with the factory 100mm axles the mk3 comes with 100mm axle flanges from a 2.0L 8V mk4 or early mk4 TDI. You will need the three mounting bolts as well Rear trans mount bracket from a mk3 TDI or VR6 or G60 Corrado or Passat with an 02A. Starter bolts from a mk3 TDI with an 02A trans. Front motor mount bracket from a mk3 TDI with an 02A trans. Here is the part number for the one I am using. Not sure on the differences between the VR6 and 4 cylinder starters but I know the 4 cylinder ones work with the 4 cylinder flywheels. You can use a Mk3 VR6 clutch with these specs if you want or just order a mk4 1.8T clutch kit. As far as I know the early mk4 ALH TDIs are the only ones that came with the dual mass flywheels (but I may be wrong) and TDIs tend to have a heavier flywheel than gas versions. This can come from a Corrado G60, mk3 TDI, mk4 1.8T or mk4 8V 2.0L just do yourself a favor and make sure it is a single mass flywheel. Flywheel from an 02A or 02J 4 cylinder car not a VR6.

If you like ratios of the CHE, DFQ, DGD or AMC code 020 transmission with the way your ABA is setup the EHA or ENJ code 02Js are the ones to have You most likely will not want an 02J from a 2.0L 8v mk4 unless you want to kill your MPGs and have an 02J version of a 4K code 020
You cannot use a VR6 transmission due to the different bell housing. First of all you will need an 02J from a 4 cylinder mk4 with gear ratios of your choice depending on your goals. I will be updating the main post with pictures and part numbers on everything I can to make this a little more straight forward for anyone else doing an 02J swap into an ABA mk3 car or other 4 cylinder 020 transmission mk3s. I've decided to start another thread on this subject due to the fact that I had to do a lot of hunting around between 4 to 5 different threads to put together all the proper information and sort out all the misinformation on the 4 cylinder 02J swap into a mk3.
